Ive never been in two Z's back to back that ever rode anywhere close to the same. Every single one has its own character either through wear and tear and "issues" or due to mods and tuning. I think you might be surprised to find that adding wide front tires to your car would not cause the drastic changes in road manners you are describing. Nothing wrong with having preferences, but I just don't think wide tires = bad road manners in the way that you are saying stiff springs = harsh ride. To your point of steering effort, well, I guess that's just a matter of personal preference. I much prefer the feel of a wider tire and very much dislike the floppy overpowered numb feeling steering on narrow tires. With a properly functioning power steering system you really shouldn't have any low speed difficulty.
